Helping California Homeowners Navigate Energy Upgrades

A straightforward way to find out what your home may qualify for — without the pressure.

What we do

California Home Energy Center connects homeowners in Los Angeles, Sacramento, the Bay Area, and San Diego with licensed local contractors for a free, no-obligation home energy assessment. We don't sell equipment ourselves — we help you find out what your home may qualify for, and connect you with a contractor who can evaluate your home in person.

Where we operate

We currently coordinate assessments for homeowners in:

How the process works

  1. You answer a few quick questions about your home and what you're interested in.
  2. Our team calls to confirm a few details and schedule your free in-home visit.
  3. A licensed local contractor visits your home, evaluates it in person, and tells you honestly what you may qualify for.
  4. You decide whether to move forward — there's no obligation at any step.

Our approach: we'd rather tell a homeowner "this upgrade doesn't make sense for your home" than oversell something that doesn't fit. That's why the process is educational first — you get real information, and you make the decision.

Licensing & insurance

Home energy assessments and any resulting work are performed by licensed, insured contractors. We're in the process of publishing our full license and insurance details on this page — if you'd like to verify a contractor's license before your appointment, you can search the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) directly, and we're happy to provide the exact license number by phone or email in advance.
